Creek County Bar Association "Gives Back": Legal Aid of Oklahoma, Inc.

In association with Attorney General Drew Edmondson’s Campaign for Justice, the Creek County Bar Association voted unanimously to donate to Legal Aid of Oklahoma, Inc. This is the second consecutive year our group donated to this very worthy cause! At our April 11th meeting, Ms. Karen Langdon of Legal Aid of Oklahoma, Inc. addressed our group, encouraging our lawyers to donate their time and services to low-income Oklahomans and senior citizens. Legal Aid volunteers are eligible for access to form database, enhanced insurance coverage, and experienced assistance with challenging cases. In order to enjoy these benefits, a volunteer lawyer need only accept one (1) case per year! Please visit http://www.probono.net/ok to learn more and register!

Creek County Bar Association at the TU Chilifest Cook-Off

The Creek County Bar Association participated in the TU Chilifest Cook-Off on April 4, 2008 at the Collins Fitness Center at the University of Tulsa. Our entry, “Diversity Chili,” an Asian-inspired chili created by Vice President Jennifer Ward, was certainly a hit! We designed our table to pay tribute to the many diverse people groups in our county, including Lebanese Americans and Native Americans. Judge Woolery and Judge White both served as chili judges at this wonderful event. We would like to especially thank Edmond and Sherian Slyman for donating promotional items for our Creek County Bar Association table! Enjoy our Chilifest Pictures!
